Why I Am Running For Marshal?


I am running as a Democrat for Monroe City Marshal, because I want to offer the voters in Monroe an alternative to the current administration.  I am running because I believe I can do a  better job of managing the Marshal’s Office than the incumbent.

I am not running because I think I will enjoy the job, though I think I would.  I am not running because I find anything appealing about any status some may think holding this office brings.  I already enjoy more social status than I’ll ever want or need.

My opponent, on the other hand, cares more about political favors than the people whom elected him to serve them. This is impractical and  incompetent management of the Marshal’s Office and the public trust:

Competent management requires two parts:

•  First: The operations of the office must be driven by the interests of all voters regardless of partisan loyalties or social status or cronyism.

• Second: Optimum management and safeguarding of voter democracy requires that the staff serving our citizens be properly trained, treated fairly, respected, and provided the resources needed to do their jobs well.

I am running because I believe I can do a better job of managing both of these than the incumbent.

I am running because my conscience and values advise me that the citizens of Monroe City deserves a better choice on the ballot.  Therefore, I am willing serve to You The People.!!!
